Workshop Botanical Printing on Paper Silk and Linen Southwold

Discover the joys of botanical printing with Suffolk textile artist Marian May. Times: 10am-4pm Cost: £130 (one to one); £80 per person for 2 people Venue: Southwold For dates please contact me. During this day long workshop, you will learn how to create gorgeous textiles by printing onto paper, silk and linen using real leaves and flowers. What is covered: ~ mordanting – preparation of the fabric; ~ how to choose the leaves that will print well; ~ using a natural dye blanket and an iron blanket; ~ bundling techniques ~ creating a natural dye bath using extracts ~ how to keep records so that you can continue to learn and get consistent results You will end the day with a beautiful silk scarf, a piece of linen which you can later sew into a cushion or table runner or a bag, and a piece of paper which could be framed or cut up to create gorgeous unique handmade cards.
